ABOUT ME
The decision to seek help can be difficult, and for most people it's scary. Working side by side with you on your journey is a privilege; it's a relationship built on compassion, thoughtfulness, and a deep desire to create a non-judgemental, safe and confidential environment.
Everyone deserves to be seen, heard and understood - and this is where I begin.
My approach is not only focused on helping individuals and couples find relief from distress, but to help you to develop new tools and explore your thoughts and feelings through open exploration. A process that can open up
greater inner strength, joy, self-compassion, and serenity.
Growing up in a small B.C. town, I learned the importance of connection to community and to the great outdoors. I love spending time with my family and friends, whether hiking, camping, participating and coaching in team sports, skiing, or kayaking. Music is also very close to my heart, and I have blessed with many opportunities and settings to "unwind".
I am a Registered & Master Therapeutic Counsellor licensed with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada and an Emotionally Focused & Gottman Method Couples Therapist.
As a Canadian Certified Addiction Counsellor, I have training and experience in assessment, counselling, intervention, and treatment of substance abuse and addiction related disorders as well as working with families who are affected by someone else's struggle.
Over the years, I have been fortunate to work with some wonderful local organizations such as The BC Para-Alpine Team, North Okanagan Hospice Society, School District 22, and the Thompson Okanagan Football Club.
